This policy explains what information Kilig (“we”) collects when you use the Kilig app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have. Kilig is for adults aged 18 and over.
Information we collect
- Account information: phone number or email, or the identifier from Google, Apple or Facebook sign-in.
- Profile information: name, birthday (we show only your age), gender, who you want to meet, photos, bio, height, job, school, city and interests.
- Approximate location: if you allow it, your device location, rounded to about 1 km before we store it. Other users only see an approximate distance, never your location.
- Activity: likes, passes, matches, blocks and reports.
- Messages you send to your matches, including photos.
- Purchases: records of credit top-ups and memberships (payments are processed by Google Play or the App Store; we never see your card details).
- Device information: push notification token, app version and operating system.
How we use it
- To create your account, show your profile to other users and suggest people to you.
- To let matched users chat, and to send you notifications about matches and messages.
- To keep Kilig safe: we review every profile photo (automatically with AI and, when needed, by a person), and we act on reports.
- To process purchases and prevent fraud.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Your profile is visible to other Kilig users. We use service providers to run Kilig: cloud hosting and storage (Tencent Cloud), sign-in and payments (Google, Apple, Facebook), push notifications (Google Firebase), SMS delivery, and an AI service for photo moderation. They may only use your information to provide these services. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
Retention and deletion
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Delete account) or by following the steps on our account deletion page. When you delete your account we remove your profile and photos, end your matches and chats, and unlink third-party sign-in. We keep limited records (such as purchase records and safety reports) where the law requires it or to prevent abuse.
Your choices
- Edit your profile, hide your profile from discovery, or turn off location access at any time.
- Turn off notifications in your device settings.
- Contact us to access or correct your information.
Children
Kilig is only for adults 18 and over. We remove accounts that appear to belong to minors. See our Child Safety Standards.
